Omix Plus
Coffee Moisture, Water Activity, Density, Structure, and Color Meter

Omix Plus measures green coffee, dried cherries, parchment, roasted whole bean and ground coffee.

Green
Moisture, bulk and approximate true density, water activity, screen size, bean volume and sample weight, from one press of the button.
Roasted
All of the above, plus roast colour on whole beans and on grounds, with the distribution behind the average rather than the average on its own.

Readings go into CoffeeOS, where each roast connects back to the green lot it came from.

All-in-One Mobile Coffee Lab: Omix measures moisture, water activity (Dew Point Method), bulk & true bean density, screen size, single bean volume, roast color distribution, and environmental conditions in one compact device.

Versatile Sample Analysis: Works with coffee cherries, dried cherries, parchment coffee, green coffee, roasted beans, and ground coffee for complete roast-to-brew data.

Smart Data Handling: Automatically detects sample noise like gaps, chaff, and outliers, removing them from readings for reliable results every time.

Precise Water Activity: Uses the internationally recognized Chilled-Mirror-Dew-Point method to provide accurate results in 30 seconds.

Advanced Density Measurement: Replicates the displacement method using algorithms to estimate true density with minimal error.

Small Samples, Big Insights: Works with ~150 g for moisture, density, screen size, and water activity, and 5–18 g for color measurements, perfect for farms, roasteries, labs, or home use.

Connect to DiFluid Café: Collect and upload coffee data in the field or in the lab, keeping track of metrics between roasts to refine your process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the sample size?

For green coffee, ~150 grams, depending on density.

For roasted coffee color, ~18-20 grams.

For ground coffee color, ~3-5 grams.

How accurate is the water activity measurement?

Omix utilizes the only internationally recognized method for accurately testing water activity, known as the "Chilled Mirror Dew-Point Method." It works by cooling a mirror in a sealed chamber until condensation forms; the temperature at which this occurs is the dew point, which corresponds to the water activity of the sample.

This is normally a slow process because overshooting will require waiting for the mirror to heat back up. Omix solves this problem by combining data from its sensors to predict the dew point and cooling fast, and slowing down as it approaches the dew point. Omix is accurate to ±0.005 Aw.
