Is there a difference between the black and white Omni besides color?
Nope! Buy one of each and you can mix and match the bases 😉
What is the sample size?
Between 15 and 17 grams for whole bean, and 3-5 grams for whole grounds, depending on density and moisture content.
How do you calibrate?
Particle size is calibrated at the factory and is fixed, so it does not need to be calibrated.
Roast color is calibrated using a standard color card. For greater accuracy, it is recommended to purchase a ColorGuard dual color plate for more precise calibration.
What is CoffeeOS?
CoffeeOS is a free app that connects all of DiFluid's devices. View Brew Control Charts, extraction data, and recipes all in the same app.
Do I need to connect to the app to use the devices?
No — Omni works standalone with its 2.8” touchscreen, but CoffeeOS unlocks robust data logging, charts, and syncing across devices.
What can the Brew Control System do for me?
Calibrating a recipe requires several iterations. By quantifying your brew variables, you can quickly dial in new coffees, helping you use less coffee to perfect the technique to achieve consistent results.
Omni's color scan technique gathers a high resolution distribution across the entire sample, requiring less coffee to measure the color. This is ideal when measuring expensive coffees or when consistency is important, so you need to measure frequently.
